Industrial Designer Job

General Responsibilities: Responsible for the design and development of innovative and quality products. Strive to learn and adapt to emerging production processes and new software. Learn to develop products utilizing research and marketing information through prototype and production. Work closely with the Design Director, Senior Industrial Designers, Product Managers, Sales and Marketing teams to ensure product development objectives and timelines are met.
Specific Responsibilities: Collaborate with team members to develop innovative products. Ensure proper communication levels are met to achieve maximum success,· Responsible for understanding the (especially in soft goods) marketplace, competition, industry, etc. to ensure optimal industrial design value is achieved·Responsible to adhere to the established budgets and timelines communicated by the Design Director and Senior Industrial Design Staff·
Maintain and evolve the Belkin product design language, develop the brand through industrial design.Strive to create inspiring designs that challenge the market place, while developing around manufacturing and financial constraints· Develop products through conceptual sketching, 2D Renderings, 3D model studies and computer software·
The ability to communicate the product’s design to engineering staff, (merchandisers, developers) and manufacturers· Immersion in (2D &) 3D computer processes (Alias or other 3D software) & preparation of tech kits and preliminary documentation to create soft goods products for development in Asia· Perform all other duties as assigned or required Education and Experience Requirements:· Four-year college degree in Industrial Design · Competence in a variety of 2D and 3D software.
