EMCEF

EMCEF today organises two & half million workers in thirty five countries and hundred and thirty national trade unions. EMCEF organises both blue and white-collar workers. Some of our main objectives: Safeguard economic, social, environmental and cultural interests; Enhance relations between affiliated organisations; Promote contacts, relations and negotiations with employers;Follow the European Treaties; Promote equal opportunities regardless of gender, race or creed; Harmonise collective bargaining and industrial relations policies; Provide relevant data, information and services.

EMCEF organises members in a wide range of industrial areas: Energy - Mines - Chemical - Pharmaceutical - Rubber - Plastics - Glass - Pulp and Paper Sectoral Committees deal with industrial, technical and legal matters relevant for these industries.EMCEF has four statutory committees: Collective Bargaining, European Works Council, Industrial Relations (incl. Environment, Health and Safety, Social Dialogue .

Works Councils. With more than two hundred EWCs in all its sectors. EMCEF has been extremely active in shaping one important element of EMCEF has a long-standing record in creating and co-ordinating European the European social dialogue. A second demonstration of the workers in the Glass and Ceramics industry has taken place in Prague on March, in which six hundred people took part. This demonstration was in order to push for changes in social legislation.
